The Porcine Pardon: Hog Named Six Seven Spared by Miami Dade County Leader.

It might not have been at the same level as sparing festive fowl, but the county's top official conducted a presidential-style act this week by formally pardoning the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. Clemency is justified for her. She has committed zero crimes,” stated the mayor in a speech with clear references to the sheer volume of pardons issued from the start of the commencement of a second term in office.

“Unless you count eating six or seven apples per day,” Levine Cava continued. “Let this swine have a long and happy life free from concern.”

The event, simultaneously observing and challenging the local cultural practice of feasting on pork during the holidays, was created to mirror the annual turkey pardoning at the White House.

The pig, contributed by a local firefighter, was christened after the current slang trend of young people exclaiming “six-seven” – deriving from a hip-hop line – often for no discernable reason. The phrase became so widespread that a leading lexicon site recently declared “six-seven” its annual vocabulary selection.

A Future Secured

This particular pig is now scheduled to spend its days at a farm sanctuary “away from grills and cookware”, according to the ceremony's official statement.

“The pig pardon has become one of our favorite ways to begin the festive period,” said the cafe owner, in a notably cheerful message.

“It embodies the spirit of Miami: vibrant, multicultural, and grounded in customs that bring people together. Annually, we are delighted to mark heritage and mercy in a way unique to Miami.”

Guests enjoyed a vegetarian menu of croquettes and cafecito as they marked the pig's pardon.
