Combatants laugh as they travel on the back of a pick-up truck, speeding past a series of several lifeless forms and driving towards the setting African evening sky.
"See such effort. Observe this instance of mass destruction," a combatant shouts.
The fighter beams as he points the camera on himself and his associate militiamen, their Rapid Support Forces insignia clearly shown: "The victims shall all be killed this way."
The combatants are celebrating a mass killing that relief organizations suspect resulted in the deaths of in excess of thousands of civilians in the African city of el-Fasher during October.
A Community Cut Off from the Outside
Having held the city under siege for almost two years, from August the RSF moved to strengthen its dominance and blockade the surviving residents.
Orbital photography demonstrate that troops commenced to build a enormous earth barrier - a built-up sand barrier - surrounding the boundaries of el-Fasher, sealing off roads and preventing relief supplies.
As the siege worsened, seventy-eight people were killed in an militia attack on a place of worship on September 19th, while the international organization stated 53 additional were killed in drone and artillery strikes on a displacement camp in October.
Disturbing Recording Shows Weaponless Individuals Shot
By sunrise on October 26th the RSF conquered the remaining military strongholds and captured the central base in the community, the main facility of the Army Division, as the army pulled back.
Among the most disturbing footage to emerge and analysed revealed the aftermath of a mass killing at a campus structure on the western of the city, where numerous dead bodies were visible spread over the ground.
An older man dressed in a robe was seated alone surrounded by the victims. The individual rotated to gaze as a combatant armed with a firearm walked down the steps towards him. Raising his firearm, the gunman discharged a solitary shot at the victim, who fell to the surface lifeless.
"How come is this one yet living," a militiaman exclaimed. "Execute him."
Orbital photography taken on 26 October indicated to substantiate that executions were also carried out on the roads of the city, according to a study released by the university analysis team.
A key observer who spoke said they had seen "numerous of our family members getting executed - the victims were gathered in a specific area and all eliminated."
RSF Officers Attempt to Conduct Reputation Management
Following the events that followed the killings, RSF leader conceded that his fighters had carried out "wrongdoings" and stated the incidents would be looked into.
Included among apprehended was after a report detailing his killings. Carefully staged and edited recording shared on the RSF's authorized Telegram account reveal the individual being taken into a detention area at a detention facility on the perimeter of el-Fasher.
Simultaneously, the militia and affiliated digital profiles started trying to reframe the account.
Posts presenting its fighters distributing assistance to civilians were circulated by various accounts, while the paramilitary's media office published several clips allegedly to display the proper handling of army detainees.
Regardless of the social media effort being deployed by the militia, their activities in al-Fashir have provoked global condemnation.
