Disaster Occurs as Accidental Blast at Law Enforcement Facility in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Takes Nine Fatalities
A catastrophic blast at a security post in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has led to the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to thirty-two others, according to authority reports.
The occurrence happened when a stockpile of impounded blast substances accidentally blew up during handling procedures.

The blast happened on Friday night at the Nowgam security post, where blast substances taken from Faridabad region in the northern state of Haryana were being held provisionally.
Regional security director declared that the explosives were scheduled for forensic examination when a "extremely tragic" incident during management resulted in their explosion at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

Law enforcement officials verified that this was an "unintentional explosion" and not a terror incident. "Different conjectures regarding the cause of this incident is unneeded," highlighted the law enforcement head during a journalist meeting.
The police station experienced severe damage from the detonation, with nearby constructions also being affected by the strong explosion.
Impact and Casualties
Several automobiles were "consumed by fire and turned into burned shells, with debris scattered across the site," according to official reports.
"The force of the explosion was so powerful that some human remains were retrieved from nearby houses, approximately 100-200 metres away the police station," reported an official source.
The majority of the casualties were security officials, along with technical investigation team, two investigative imaging experts, and a tailor who was present with the personnel.

The territory's Administrative Head expressed commiserations and confirmed that an probe had been directed into the tragic incident.
"I have commissioned a investigation to ascertain the cause of the inadvertent detonation. Profoundly distressed by the loss of precious lives due to profoundly sorrowful accidental blast at Nowgam security post in the Srinagar area. My condolences to the bereaved families.
