The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many fans into the National Football League
That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their eight and two competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the league's best rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard average
Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to dig his team from the situation - rather than the calm, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year
The Dolphins have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three 8-2 squads in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the best?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime success in Buffalo seems like a statement
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was huge
Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly deserves credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to steer his side to victory
The defense is solid and first-year running back Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to break 22mph this year on his initial touchdown
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against the Bills
Traveling to Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Colts also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There's a long way to go but the door is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Next Week Showdown
Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each put up forty points to reach seven and two before the upcoming major meeting between the two in LA
They've both won four in a row, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses allowing under 20 points a game
Each could easily be without a loss as too - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses came in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a score
The Seahawks were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely two of the best sides in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year to date
Top Performer - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
